oh i'm 20 now weird

Bismillahirrahmannirrahim, Assalamualaikum

Ah it's the year 2020 may everyone is in the pink of health omg it's been ages since I used that idiom lol Anyways, there's nothing much I wanted to update because I just feel like writing something and so here I am.

I've been enrolling in university since last September and currently on my semester break. Times flies really fast when you don't pay attention to it. Made some new friends and guess what HIHI I'm able to have a group of great friends too. Same goes to my roommates and housemate, Alhamdulillah. Being in this situation makes me realized one thing - I always prayed that He'll blessed me with a bunch of good and nice people around me and looking back, He heard my prayer and blessed me with one. Alhamdulillah, all praises to Him.

Talking about prayers, few days ago I stumbled upon Ustaz Addien 's tweet where a person asked why do we come to Him during our easy but not when we're tested with hardships. To be honest, I did that sometimes. I mean who doesn't? No matter how positive we try to be, at one point, we'll lose ourselves and faith towards him. Even so, I get up again and tried to be as positive as I can and try to  put the trust in Him.

Ustaz responded to the tweet with 2 ayahs from the Alquran Kareem,

"Man is not weary of supplication for good [things], but if evil touches him, he is hopeless and despairing." - 41:49

"And when We bestow favor upon man, he turns away and distances himself; but when evil touches him, then he is full of extensive supplication." - 41:51

It's the human nature to feel like that and to us we must reflect ourselves. May we will be given strength to go through our hardships & keep our faith in Him, Amin. Well maybe I'll stop here it's like almost 2 in the morning see ya next post and happy 2020!

Language

It's almost the end of June oh how time flies so fast. I dont really want to write a lot but I just feel the needed to write something. So here it is, i just came across an ig story of one of my following about languages and how she wish to learn more languages in the future. Reading her reply reminds me of how much I wanted to learn foreign languages. How i wish i can speak 4 languages at least :/

In my perspective, languages are important. If you can't communicate, it'll be hard for the other parties to understand. Some may not but some may and that's why we should be prepare. As for my native language, it's Bahasa Melayu which is also a national language used here in Malaysia while my second language is English. Oh, I just remembered something I read few days ago on twitter (credit goes to the owner, thank you for the free lesson! hee~) - the reason why most of Malaysia's ads, promos, posters, etc. are written in English is because English is our second language. If we compare to Indonesia, they will use Indonesian fully and that is because in their country, English is a foreign language so I guess they aren't encourage to use English fully? Please enlighten me if I'm wrong.

Back to myself. I've been interested in learning language ever since I was little. I went to an Indian kindergarten - where they use English as a base/main language. Growing up, my parents provide me a real good source aka dictionary (yay!) for me to learn English more as they see the potential in me. Once, my sister said I'm a crazy nerd because I laughed while reading dictionary when the real side is I was looking for a translation words and never thought it was gonna be a funny translation LOL I was then exposed to the bigger world - internet. That is when I found out about Korean, Japanese, Spanish, German, etc. I swear it is so fun to listen to people talking in a different languages.

When I was around 13-14 years old, I started to learn Korean (only the alphabets) because my friend had influenced me to jump on the kpop & kdrama stuffs and I'm not blaming her. Then, I stopped. When I was 17, I decided to learn German after watching Netflix series - Dark (I SWEAR THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV SERIES GO WATCH IT!) looks like I can be influenced easily lol and stopped when I was 18 because ya gurl is going to college and she is an idiet who can't balance her study life. Skipping to 19 years old, I'm currently continue learning Korean because I'm on a break before entering the university life. So let us all pray that I can finish my Korean for at least 40% and I can pursue in my chosen course, Amin Ya Robbal Alamin.

Just wanted to let you know that I'm learning these languages all by my own. I'm depending 100% fully on Youtube and study/language apps like Quizlet, Mesmerize & Duolingo! :) (am not sponsored lol)

+ malaysia uses biritsh english  and not american english but sigh, we never taught of the accent :/

College

Bismillahirrahmannirrahim, Assalamualaikum

Alhamdulillah it's been almost 3 weeks since I've graduated from college. A year with strangers who turns out to be my friends. Alhamdulillah again despite me being an introvert and a shy girl back then in school, college has changed me to be a better person. Not too extrovert or introvert. Now i can balance both - I mean when I should be an extrovert and vice versa. You may not believe but one of my wishes came true. I made a lot of friends during college even from different courses and we sometimes hang out together. And i love how it turns out.

My 19th birthday was different this year. I could describe it as a special one. I've never received birthday gifts these past years unless they're from my best friends (I'm so lame ikr??!!) but this year, everything changed. I received a lot and I couldn't thank them enough. I was so touched. I didn't expect any of these happened but it did. Alhamdulillah I thanked Him who blessed me with a sweet and great friends and for that, I'm thankful.

As for studies, it was tough but hey I made it! You know, the rain will always come first for the rainbow to appear. From my experience, a study table is a must. It doesn't matter if you're in school, college or uni. Trust me, it helps you a lot. Also, read before you come to class so you won't feel left behind. Don't be shy and ask anything you're curious about to you lecturers. Insha Allah, they'll help you as long as you show interest in their lessons.
